8:00 AM
Today was Lucas' little surgery. The truth is it was nothing and it made us very grateful, once again, to have such healthy children. I arrived with Lucas at Joe Dimaggio's Hospital in Hollywood at 5:30am. Jorge followed soon after because we had to wait for our parent's to stay with Gaby.
Lucas was such a good boy and flirted with all the nurses. They changed him into this tiny little gown and thankfully allowed me to stay with him until the very last second. The surgery lasted only minutes and they didn't even have to put an IV, he was uncomfortable but for the most part was in good spirits only a few hours after the procedure. I was even able to breastfeed him right after it was done.
The surgery was Friday and by Sunday he was able to stick out his tongue half way out of his mouth. Before he only was able to take out the tip and it was split down the middle, kind of like a lizard.
So now my lizard tongue baby is able to do "trompetillas" like a champ and the anticipation of the surgery was much worse than the actual procedure. Again, we are very blessed.
