Adventures in Moratoville
First Time at the Beach
We took Gabriel to Hollywood Beach the weekend after Memorial Day Weekend. He had just woken up from his nap, so we took advantage of the time and quickly packed him off to the beach. Well, as quickly as possible considering we needed to prepare for a baby. Anyway, we arrived at 4:40pm and the day was very overcast and the ocean was very rough, but we weathered the elements and took Gabriel in for his first dip in the ocean. At first, he wasn't having it. He was a little scared and kept holding on to me or his dad for dear life, but after he saw Jorge dive into the water and dunking himself in and out, he took to it in no time. He also loved the taste of the saltwater and kept sucking his lips. The sand was another adventure and he kept looking at us like, why is this stuff sticking to me? He loved it and on the way home was sucking his feet and hands, tasting the saltwater. It was really funny. He also learned something new on the way home. I'm not sure how to describe this, but he put his fingers to his mouth and started moving his lip and making noise. We call it the crazy sound because it's what you'd use to describe someone who's a little off their rocker, but now when he ask him, Como hace el loco? What sound does the crazy boy make? - he shows us.
